Humble Beginnings
Founded by CEO Jane Wallace-Jones, Something Different
Wholesale began in the early 1990s with humble roots at local car boot sales. Jane's
keen eye for unique giftware and her passion for sales led her to trading at
daily markets, eventually operating multiple units across South Wales.
Recognising a gap in the wholesale market, Jane established
a 5,000 square foot warehouse in Baglan, South Wales in 1999. Her approach involved
purchasing stock in bulk from importers and manufacturers, storing it in the
warehouse to supply her chain of market stalls and offer cash-and-carry
services to local customers. That same year, she launched Something Different's
first e-commerce website - one of the earliest in its sector - marking a
significant milestone in the company's growth.
Today, Something Different Wholesale is recognised as one of
the largest giftware importers, offering over 4,000 products and serving more
than 25,000 customers worldwide. With a commitment to exceptional customer
service and a diverse product range, we continue to support businesses of all
sizes across the world.
